Mean Girls: 15 Lines From Regina George That Prove She’s Pure Evil

For a character who doesn’t kill anyone or physically attack anyone, Regina George from Mean Girls is considerably evil. As far as high-school girls go, she might be one of the most malevolent of her kind. Janis Ian even explains to Cady that “evil takes a human form” in Regina, and when viewers let some of her nastiest lines sink in, it’s easy to see why.

The comments that Regina makes clearly show that she cares about nobody but herself, does not feel guilty about being two-faced and judgemental and has no problem ordering people around like they’re slaves.

Updated on January 28th, 2021 by Scoot Allan: 2004’s Mean Girls introduced fans to a group of young girls known around the school as the ‘Plastics” who were led by Rachel McAdam’s Regina George, the meanest of the mean who was labeled as pure evil. Mean Girls has continued to draw in new audiences over the years both with the movie, a musical adaptation, and a book that has furthered Regina’s evil legend, so we are taking another look at some of the worst things said by Regina that prove she really is the evilest high school girl.

15 “Then It’s Settled, So You Can Go Shave Your Back Now.”

While Regina’s statements to Jason early in the movie are in defense of her friend Gretchen, as he was scheming with Cady right in front of them after going with Gretchen to an earlier party at Regina’s, but it’s still pretty mean to say in a cafeteria full of students.

She first put Cady on the spot by asking her if she wanted to have sex with Jason, and when she said no, she further humiliated Jason. He was being very inappropriate so it may have been deserved, but it was a good indicator of Regina’s ability to publicly take down her classmates.

14 “So You Agree, You Think You’re Really Pretty.”

Regina used a particular brand of double-talk and fake compliments to both hide insults and manipulate her closest friends into turning on each other, which she did a number of times throughout Mean Girls to break down her friends and maintain control of the Plastics.

After complementing Cady on her prettiness during their first meeting, she turned it on her potential new friend almost immediately after she agreed, making her feel guilty about the compliment and highlighting Regina’s manipulative behavior.

13 “Aren’t You So Mad At Gretchen For Telling Me?”

Another example of some of the evil tricks Regina George has in her arsenal to use against her best friends is some of the phone games she would play, with the intentions of getting her friends to say something bad about the other while they were secretly on the line.

Regina called Cady while Gretchen was listening in on the call, and manipulated her into saying a few bad things about Gretchen, before abruptly ending the call and leaving the other girls confused and angry.

12 “I Love Her, She’s Like A Martian!”

Viewers learned a lot about Regina as Cady visited her house for the first time and learned about the Burn book, though her sly evilness was at its peak as they slowly began to learn about Cady and her life before high school which separated her from other leads in similar teen movies.

Cady was raised in Africa with her zoologist parents and home-schooled, and Regina frequently remarked how odd that was to her, even calling her a martian and treating her like she was more of an amusement than a friend.

11 “Cady, Will You Please Tell Him His Hair Looks Sexy Pushed Back?”

One of the meanest things Regina did in Mean Girls that truly showcased her evil was after she got back together with Cady’s crush Aaron (played by Jonathan Bennett) after promising to talk to him for Cady.

She then forced Cady to not only watch her and Aaron together at school but actively comment on his looks knowing full well it was torture, though Cady was hoping to keep the peace and went along with Regina’s games.

10 “Gretchen, Stop Trying To Make Fetch Happen. It’s Not Going To Happen.”

True friends are supportive of each other’s ideas, even if they’re a little lame. That’s how Mean Girls fans know that Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams, is not a good friend to any of the Plastics. She doesn’t support them when they have creative ideas.

Case in point: when Gretchen comes up with the word “fetch.” Even if Regina doesn’t get Gretchen’s vision, a nice person would have pretended to like the word rather than shutting her down and dictating that she can’t say it anymore.

9 “Boo, You Whore.”

It’s in the simple lines that the essence of Regina George really comes out. She says this to Karen when the two are on the phone and Karen pretends that she can’t go out with Regina because she’s sick.

Rather than showing concern for her friend who’s sick (she’s not really sick, but Regina doesn’t know that), Regina cements herself as truly evil by saying this rude line to her “close” friend, instead of seeing why Karen might have been trying to avoid her.

8 “Get In, Loser. We’re Going Shopping.”

It really doesn’t get any more Regina George than this iconic line: “Get in, loser. We’re going shopping.” This is how Regina invites Lindsay Lohan‘s Cady to go shopping with the Plastics for the first time.

Not only does she call Cady, one of her “best friends,” a loser but she also doesn’t give her any choice in the matter. It’s not really an invitation so much as it’s an order. This is just further evidence that Regina George is a queen bee.

7 “Because That Vest Was Disgusting!”

The saying “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” isn’t true by any stretch of the imagination. Friends of Regina George know this, especially when she makes scathing remarks about their clothes.

When Regina says this, the other girls have turned against her and are trying to have her evicted from their lunch table because she’s breaking the fashion rules by wearing sweatpants on a Monday. Although she’s only defending herself, it’s still not a nice thing to say.

6 “God, Karen, You Are So Stupid.”

The interesting thing about Regina George’s meanest comments is that the Plastics don’t seem to mind when she insults them. The ruder she is to them the more they want her to like them, and this eventually applies to Cady too.

After Aaron breaks up with Regina, Karen tries to cheer her up by suggesting they go to Taco Bell, but Regina responds by calling her stupid because she’s on “an all-carb diet.” The irony!

5 “I Know She’s Kind Of Socially R******* And Weird, But She’s My Friend.”

Let it be known that if someone refers to their friends like this then they’re probably not a nice person, end of discussion. Regina says several horrible things about her friends behind their backs, but this is one of the worst.

Regina says this to Aaron about Cady, knowing that Cady is watching, knowing that she has a crush on Aaron, and knowing that she’s about to steal him away. Pure evil.

4 “She’s Not Going Out With Anyone.”

To get back at Jason for blowing off Gretchen, Regina makes trouble for the new girl he’s seeing, Taylor. She calls her mom and pretends to be from Planned Parenthood, insinuating that Taylor has fallen pregnant.

Although the Plastics find this funny, it’s clear how evil this move is when Taylor’s mom calls her a few seconds later and sounds very distressed.

3 “They Say You’re A Homeschooled Jungle Freak Who’s A Less Hot Version Of Me.”

The final confrontation between Cady and Regina takes place near the end of the film when Regina learns that Cady was pretending to be her friend all along to sabotage her life.

Regina is obviously feeling hurt at this point, but her words to Cady are still totally cruel and showcase how evil she can be: “They say you’re a homeschooled jungle freak who’s a less hot version of me.”

2 “That Is The Ugliest F-ing Skirt I’ve Ever Seen.”

A sign of pure evil is someone who can effortlessly say one thing to a person’s face and then say something completely different behind their back, with no remorse or guilt.

Regina George does this after complimenting a girl at school’s skirt, saying it’s adorable. A second later, she turns to Cady and says, “That is the ugliest f-ing skirt I’ve ever seen.”

1 “I Mean, I Couldn’t Have A Lesbian At My Party.”

Perhaps the most obvious sign that Regina George has too many sinister bones in her body is her treatment of gay people. Janis isn’t gay, but because Regina believes she is, she is cruel to her to the point of ruining her life.

This comment—the fact that she “couldn’t have a lesbian” at her party shows how little she cares about Janis’s feelings and how ignorant she is about the world, which is further showcased by her use of other ignorant terms throughout Mean Girls.
